We are excited to announce that enrollment for our summer programs is now open. For students who have never attended STARBASE, join us for our Core Summer Academy. For those students who previously participated in the Core Summer Academy or joined us with their school, we invite you to our Advanced Academy. Carefully read the descriptions and criteria below to ensure you choose the right program. Remember, applying does not guarantee acceptance. We get many applications, and our academies have limited spots.

CORE
SUMMER ACADEMY
Theme: Does technology, science, and engineering excite your child? If so, have them join like-minded peers at STARBASE. Through an immersive, hands-on setting, students will program a robot to navigate a Mars surface, design a life-saving contraption in an "egg-citing" engineering activity, blast off into space in a full-scale space shuttle nose simulator, apply the science of chromatography to solve a mystery, use CAD to create 3D models, and much more!
Eligibility: Students entering 5th or 6th grade for the 2026/27 school year who have not previously attended STARBASE.
Dates & Times (Two Options): June 15 - 18; June 22 - 25 (9 am to 2 pm each day)
Location: Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan
Transportation: Students will need transportation to and from the academy each day.
Cost: There is no cost. All materials are provided.
Lunch: Students need to bring a non-perishable lunch and beverage each day.
ADVANCED ACADEMY
Theme: “STEAM” ahead with immersive, hands-on learning. Students will design, build, and experiment as they create a wooden candy dispenser, make bubble gum through food chemistry, solder circuits, use math to solve a code and reveal the contents of a treasure chest—and so much more! Along the way, they’ll strengthen collaboration, innovation, and technical literacy while thinking like scientists and engineers and tackling real-world challenges. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable experience!
Eligibility: Students entering 6th or 7th grades for the 2026/27 school year who have attended a previous Core Summer Academy or STARBASE with their school.
Dates & Times (Two Options): July 27 - 30; August 3 - 6 (9 am to 2 pm each day)
