The STARBASE Space Exploration Module (SEM) is an unmatched learning tool that uses real-world space replicas and simulators to enhance a student's education.

This module gives children the extraordinary chance to step aboard a full-scale, high-fidelity space shuttle nose simulator where they launch into space, undock with the International Space Station, and return to a landing at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Inside the working science lab called Odyssey (modeled after the Destiny Lab Module orbiting 220 miles above Earth on the International Space Station), students conduct nanotechnology research.

In the 475 square foot simulated Mars Center, students use measurement, computations, and mapping scale objectives to program micro-rover robots that navigate the Mars terrain.

The Space Exploration Module also includes real space artifacts for the students to examine, drawing from the days of early space exploration under the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs to the retired Space Transportation System (the space shuttle).
